Patients often seek urgent care when they have presenting health conditions that are non-life-threatening but needs to be addressed immediately to avoid giving way to more adverse conditions.

This is usually at the onset of their pain crisis episode in other to quickly address the pain before it becomes unbearable or as soon a noticeable sickle cell related health symptom reveals itself.

Note: Fever should not be taken lightly. If you feel feverish and having persistent pain, seek urgent care immediately to get a thorough physical examination.

When To Seek Urgent Care

We advise patients to seek urgent care at the onset of their pain crisis, especially when their routine and over-the-counter drugs cannot effectively ease the uprising pain episodes.

Early treatment is key to avoiding unneeded hospital stays and prolonged pain episodes. With our crisis treatment, patient can easily be rid of mild pain crisis in well under 3 hours. The earlier you start your treatment, the earlier you can go back to being pain-free.

Patients are advised to also seek urgent care when noticing mild to moderate symptoms such as:

  • Joint and muscle pain
  • Rash
  • Abdominal pain (mild to moderate)
